Tropea is a small town in Calabria, a region in southern Italy. This amazing old town situated 70 meters up on a cliff offers a beautiful panorama on some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy including Tropea beach. It has numerous historical places to visit like the Norman Cathedral in the center of the old town, churches, sanctuaries, villas and little hidden squares. Santa Maria dell’Isola beach, Cannone, ‘A Linguata e Rotonda beach are visited by thousands of tourists each year and by just giving a look at the photos you can imagine why. Crystal clear water that fades from turquoise to deep blue, white sand beaches are more than an invitation. For good swimmers, the clear water offers a perfect place to enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. All the coastal area is characterized by cliffs between which there are “hidden” numerous beaches and bays. There are 40 kilometers of the coast know as “Costa degli Dei” (Coast of the Gods) which shows you how spectacular nature can be. This landscape is unique and of a priceless beauty. This old town is a pedestrian town, so the access from the town to the beaches can be a bit difficult. Moving a few kilometers from the town, you can find some charming sand beaches with clear water with direct access, not having to take long walks. There are various resorts and campsites near the old town.
