Cala Luna is definitely one of the most spectacular beaches in the Mediterranean. It is situated in the Gulf of Orosei in the province of Nuoro (Sardinia). More than 700 meters long and 200 meters wide it is a perfect place for those who love sand beaches and clear blue sea. One of the particularities of this beach is that there are some beautiful big caves near that offer a perfect shelter from sun and the heat. Amazing mix of colors offered by the white sand mixed with stones, clear blue sea and the magical green from the vegetation around the beach in part surrounded by cliffs and rocks. Cala Luna is easy to arrive at with private boats or taxi boats from the beach of Marina di Orosei. Accessible also by trekking for adventurous ones.
If you love snorkeling and scuba diving it is a lovely place to visit and nearby there are other beautiful “hidden” beaches and caves to explore. There is also a refreshment area. Although famous with numerous tourists visiting this beautiful beach, it is still a perfect angle of uncontaminated nature.
An interesting fact is that here was filmed a movie “Swept away” with Madonna as a leading actress.
